Womens Rugby – Munster

Womens rugby is an ever growing part of the  Rugby Community

In Munster at present there are 3 teams competing in the All Ireland League Division 1, with 5 teams competing In AIL Division 2 South.
Munster Rugby also runs a development league which is designed to help teams grow and participate in the game of rugby while developing their internal structures. The teams come from all over the province with the emphasis on developing the game in non traditional rugby areas.
As well as the Adult teams many clubs are competing at age grade level at U14’s U16’s and U18’s participating in blitz days playing both 7’s and 15 a side rugby.
As a province Munster also compete in the Interprovincial series against Leinster, Ulster and Connacht where the women's game is also being developed. Over the last number of years  because of the work that is being put in at the ground level Munster have seen many of their players contribute at International level.

As well as the senior interprovincial series Munster also compete in an U18’s structure and this has been useful in developing the skills and understanding of the next generation of womens rugby players.
There are many exciting ways for players to remain in the game after retirement such as refereeing and coaching. Throughout the season there are various courses run to help guide and introduce anyone interested in these facets of the game. All details can be found at www.munsterrugby.ie
